In our advanced clinics, we dig deeper into Olympic weightlifting technique in order to help reach your potential  – working on perfecting your start position, developing a stronger and more powerful pull, and getting you able to execute a full squat clean and squat snatch –with power and speed to reach the outer limits of your capabilities

 

  • 12+ months of Olympic lifting / CrossFit experience before taking this clinic.

This course is appropriate for coaches, trainers, and athletes beyond the beginner level looking to improve their own technique and confidence and also to gain an understanding of how to help others address similar issues. Previous experience with the Olympic-style lifts is required along with an understanding of basic weightlifting terminology.

Attendees should be prepared for an active day of practical work separated by brief lectures. Lectures will cover topics ranging from mobility to improve positioning, technical details of the lifts, problem solving movement errors, and program considerations for the beginning to intermediate weightlifter.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to perform the snatch and clean & jerk under actual working loads and receive feedback, coaching and corrections. The goal for this clinic is to provide an advanced understanding of the biomechanics of HEAVY Olympic Weightlifting! Attendees will understand theoretical framework around training, the physics and biology of weight training, and identify personal limiting factors as well as specific accessory lifts designed to help you reach new limits and bust through training plateaus!

  • 100% hands on, you will be performing drills the entire session!

  • Movement screening in warmup to help identify weak or unstable joints and how to correct

  • Detailed introduction and breakdown of the lifts in a small group

  • Drills to help promote good technique that you can incorporate into your training after the clinic

  • General Outline:

    • General warmup

    • Weightlifting specific warmup and mobility

    • General barbell warm-up and drills

    • Snatch technique

    • Press & Jerk technique

    • Clean Technique

    • There will be an hour at the end to work on the skills you learned and attempt some new PR’s! Coaches will be able to give you video feedback on your technique during this time!
