Tell us a little bit about yourself, your goals.

I am 16 years old,  a junior in high school, and I play baseball. I play mid infield or third base. Growing up I played basketball, hockey, and soccer. During my freshman year I switched to focus solely on playing baseball. My goal is to keep playing baseball at the collegiate level.

How did you hear about SAA?

I learned abou SAA through a high school friend. He showed me an instagram video that SAA posted of someone squatting a crazy amount of weight.

Did you or your parents have any hesitations about starting?

No, they left the decision up to me. I had mentioned SAA to them at the beginning of the year. When I told them I wanted to start a strength and conditioning program in the summer they brought up how I mentioned SAA and we checked out the gym together.

Why did you ultimately choose SAA?

When I came in for the evaluation I really liked the environment of the gym and the equipment that the gym has to offer.

What improvements have you seen since training?

I’ve seen improvements in the weights that I am lifting and my baseball performance:

Exit velocity: from 85 mph to 91 mph

Deadlift from 320 lbs to 365 lbs

Back squat from 235 lbs for 1 rep to 253 lbs for 3 reps

As a high school player, and aspiring collegiate player, what would you tell a young baseball player who was on the fence about starting an off season program?

I saw a plateau in my playing performance, I wasn’t doing any strength training at the time. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance or seek out professions that can help you to improve your game.
